Fanworks: Tron: Fics: All the Way Home
Summary
"It doesn't matter," he gasps. "I cannot allow myself to release it before I reach him. He is my User. I must save it for him--"
(For Programs, the call of a User often manifests as arousal. Another Program can help take the edge off for a while... if the User-Believer isn't too stubborn to accept it.)
(Short vignette, based on the Deleted Scene. More notes at the end.)
All The Way Home
(Written in the settings/headcanons of my I/O Towerverse)
(Like other I/O Towerverse fics, it can stand alone)
"And if we follow it..."
Her touch ignites lavender-hued fire. Her voice purrs temptation.
"...All the way..."
He hisses a too-fast inhalation through clenched teeth.
His self-control-- the blankness he's been trying to force over his face, as he strains to focus on being the hero-- begins to fail, to fracture.
Spasms of energy crest from lower circuits all the way up to eyes and jawline... clenching, arching.
"I can't do this," he moans-- weakly, without conviction. "Alan-1 calls me."
"Obviously." Her hand stops right where it was, against a circuit-end's node, just below the belt. "I feel the level your energy is at. How effectively do you think you can complete your mission for Alan-1 in your present condition?"
Not very. His present condition is deteriorated in every way.
He's taken far too long in answering the Call already. He's let the urge build much too high.
Not that the circumstances have given him much of a choice--
"It doesn't matter," he gasps. "I cannot allow myself to release it before I reach him. He is my User. I must save it for him--"
"That makes no sense and you know it." Her voice, patient, calm, still tugs at him like a siren-song. "You are not one of the extremist User-believers who deny all the science of how our bodily processes work. You are a rational program written by a rational User." Her hand remains still on the circuit-node; has not moved for too long. Tron bites back an urge to plead.
Yori sees it in his face, but keeps... not moving. Keeps speaking. "To relieve the Call with another Program --or by yourself, if you ever had the sense to allow yourself that-- will not waste your transmission. It will still be there to send your User when the time comes. You are perfectly well aware of all this."
His breath hitches, and a sound, a sob, trembles from him.
"It is your choice, though," she says. "I will stop, if you ask me to."
He opens his mouth preparing to ask for just that. But his body --and yes, at this point his mind too-- won't cooperate. Sound comes out as a long, wavering moan.
Muscles clench, press back against her.... and, from just that one finger against that one node, a firework of violet spreads fast and blinding across his whole body.
Beyond ashamed at himself but helpless now to hold back the surge, he arches into it, clutching onto her now as he goes weak-kneed. Riding out quivering shockwaves of overload as he groans, gasps, glows all over-- a glow that envelops Yori too for a nanocycle and swirls their electrons together in a rapturous thankfulness he could never, ever, ever bring his vocal processes to admit.
The next thing he knows is that she's helping lower him to the floor, and he's going into reboot-- his body's traitorous need for rest overcoming every attempt at the self-control he clutches at... trying, trying to still be the hero.
----
When he comes out of it, she's left his side, but he can sense she's still in the apartment, still close by.
A consolation against the shame he's allowed himself -- because he came here needing her help to make plans, and she is still here, which means she will still help him plan his mission.
He drinks the blessedly pure and strong cup of energy she's left for him. And then just sits for several nanocycles, watching the I/O Tower in the distance.
But he is not to be allowed another moment of rest. The energy takes effect too quickly. And-- just as it happened at the spring in the Outlands-- the first effect is on his I/O transmitter/receiver.
Receiving, now, all too eagerly. Downloading the latest Calls that have come in--
Oh, please no, Alan-1...
Ohh...
...He must absorb the new waves of sensation. Must direct them solely toward his mission-- even as they shudder and burn through him without focus-- hot, tingling, desperate.
Must not moan. Must not arch, clench, even flinch. Must keep his posture still, his face calm.
Must not slip again; must not allow himself to need anything else but his User.
Must be the hero.
He feels Yori return to his side. He can tell that she knows of the new Call-- that she senses the renewed, inexorable pressure of need in him.
Data-pings from her mind blaspheme, softly, against Alan-1.
But she knows better than to express that aloud. As she sits down beside him, they both just state the obvious, voices overlapping.
"It's time to go."
When he doesn't immediately move to get up, she leans close, presses her lips to his shoulder. Dangerously close to a circuit.
And he resists, this time... stays still and expressionless... just lets her take this moment for herself, the comfort of being close.
Not allowing himself a reaction, not again.
Still the hero. Still strong.

Author's Notes:
---
So, I've talked about this before, in relation to how I like to write Program sex scenes.
(Basically: scenes where Tron has no anatomy down there except that all-too-visible bulge... which is where his body keeps a transmitter/receiver for contact with the I/O Tower.)
Premise (for which I have a couple finished fics and a PILE of WIPs) goes like this:
- Instead of humanoid sex organs, there's a system of functions involved in communication-- which can have responses very much like sexual feelings.
- (This of course includes circuits, which are for program-to-program signaling of things like emotional states, as well as being erogenous zones)
- But the "I/O transmitter" is for communication with Users. It becomes sensitized in response to a Call from the outside world.
- The call feels a lot like arousal.
- (Think of Tron making all those pornographic moaning sounds while drinking from the Energy Spring, and then right afterward saying "Alan-1 calls me.")
- The Call can be received anywhere, but the I/O Tower is apparently the only place the Program can transmit back. So, ideally, the urge gets relieved by going to the I/O Tower to contact the User.
- But I/O transmitters can also be touched for pleasure, by Programs together or alone.
- (Just like how User sex organs evolved for reproduction, but can be stimulated in many non-reproductive ways.)

Soooo that's how my headcanon goes, basically.
-----
BUT just recently...
It grew a new layer.
My thoughts went back to THIS SCENE.
(Which is an integral part of that headcanon, LOL.)
Usually, when analyzing this scene, I focus on the ways it seems to be an echo of human energy-- of the spirits of programmers (which is how Walter Gibbs would try to explain the formation of this whole computer-world).
Specifically, when analyzing this scene I can't help noting the influence of human sexual energy on... the entire ritual.
(Dumont's... extremely phallic outfit.)
(Tron's groin-grabbing pose during the ritual words.)
-----
But...
Now I'm also looking more closely at Tron's face, and his utter, exhausted desperation when he tells Dumont that he's being called.
He is so VERY out of patience.
Because...
Alan-1 has been edging him out of his mind.
Maybe for 200 fraggin' microcycles.
-----
And now that this has sunk in.... I have even MORE interpretations of The Deleted Love Scene: why it happened when it did... why Tron reacted the way he did during it... and what, indeed, did actually happen there.
For instance, maybe:
- Yori tried to help take the edge off for him. But Tron wouldn't let her go 'all the way'... he insisted on saving that for his User, even if it drove him insane.
- Or... She did go all the way but it was Not Enough. He's still in pain from The Call, and only his User can satisfy it.
- Or....He finally got some relief.... and then Alan called him AGAIN. AND AGAIN. (Which is the scenario I ended up writing in this vignette.)
-----
My guy can't get a break.
(cries for him)
-----
(But don't worry, look how happy he is when he finally gets there.)
(....Anyway, I now want to write ALL of this.)
(Including the follow-up story, about the first time Alan rezzes into the system and Tron confronts him like ALAN-1 do you have ANY IDEA what you have been DOING TO ME)...
