"Ram. Ram, you can't just do that in public. They'll see you.""And what? Torture me? Again? After how I responded to it the first time? Pretty sure that embarrassed the MCP more than-- oooh!-- this."
"Derezz you, Ram. They could derezz you. Dead. Deleted-- are you listening?"
"Hah. They threaten that, but I don't think they'd do it. You'n'me, we've caused them enough trouble-- if they were willing to do that, they'd have done it already. Killing's such an absolute last resort, I'm-- I'm not even sure it happens! I've been watching the others in the Games-- both red and blue-- and y'know what? They don't always even keep programs dead after they lose a battle! Sometimes they derezz into a cut-paste buffer and get reused. I've seen it, Tron! Same program comes back. Don't know what purpose we're being used for here-- what our playing and fighting does for anyone, what the game even looks like on the User's end-- but I know they want us in the games til we die playing, and maybe even after. Something about us battling is worth the effort to 'em. We're valuable-- not supposed to be destroyed any other way except finishing the game. And they'll do a lot to avoid it."
"Glitch it, Ram... Just because you've seen a program that looks like one who died, that doesn't mean they're rerezzed. It could be two by the same programmer, you know those look alike. And even if they do reuse them-- you want to risk that? Get stuck in a loop of dying again and again and again? With who-knows-what corruption happening to your code every time you're pasted back in? You want to run that experiment on yourself? What's wrong with you?"
"Don't know, Tron. I... I don't know. I mean... okay, y-yeah, maybe this is dangerous, maybe I should stop, I just... c-can't."
