coupleofdays:

Thinking more about the @faeymouse wild west Tron AU, and I’m imagining old sheriff Tron telling Beck about how he used to be just a regular cowboy in a far-off town named Encom, with his sweetheart Yori. The town came under the sway of a religious huckster that called himself the Minister Cleetus Parson, though most folks just referred to him as “the MCP”, a fellow whose face would get bright red during his fire-and-brimstone sermons, far more exciting than the ones delivered by the regular town priest Dumont. The MCP got the town’s sheriff, fellow by the name of Sark, on his side, the two of them basically running the town.

Now the Minister, he didn’t much like Tron, on account of him being a righteous sort of fellow who tried to talk sense into the townsfolk, so he got Sark to put Tron in jail on some made-up charges, in the cell next to the one occupied by a young local troublemaker named Ram. But shortly afterwards, a mysterious stranger came riding into town, called himself “Flynn”. The Minister didn’t much like the look of him either, so he got thrown into jail as well. One way or another, the three prisoners managed to stage a jailbreak, though sadly Ram got shot as they rode away, and died shortly afterwards.

Now Tron decided that he’d had enough of this nonsense. He was usually a peaceful sort of fellow, but he knew how to use a gun, having been taught a thing or two by his father, the famous gunman Alan “One” Bradley (he got his nickname because he always hit his target on the first try). So Tron rides back into town and challenges sheriff Sark to a duel at high noon. Sark was known to be a mean gunman, but Tron was quicker on the draw, and got his shot in first.

The Minister got all red in the face and started hollering, but Flynn put a gag in his mouth, and the townsfolk realized that they’d been misled, so they ran the MCP out of town. They were all very grateful to Tron for setting things right, so they went and made him the new sheriff. And Flynn? Heh, well, that fellow had a wanderlust, so he kissed Yori on the cheek, got up on his horse, and rode off into the sunset.
