coupleofdays:

Thinking about the wild west Tron AU made me think of another genre that is somewhat related to westerns: Samurai movies. So here’s my attempt at a Tron samurai AU:

The honorable samurai Tron takes on the life of wandering, masterless rōnin (Tronin?) after his lord, the daimyo Flynn, is assassinated by the dishonorable ninja Dyson, at the behest of Flynn’s scheming son Clu.

Tron wanders the land, and eventually comes to the village Argon, which is plagued by a band of bandit raiders, lead by the dangerous warrior Tesler. The villagers asks Tron for help, but the old samurai doubts if he can take on the bandits on his own, because of the painful injuries he sustained during a duel with Dyson. Instead he attempts to teach the villagers to defend themselves, with the young blacksmith’s apprentice Beck as his most enthusiastic student.

Things get complicated when Beck falls in love with one of the bandits, the beautiful but dangerous archer Paige. To make matters worse, a crazed, scarred young man named Cyrus shows up, claming to have been trained by Tron earlier in his wanderings.

Things come to a head when it turns out that the bandits have acquired the services of the ninja Dyson. Will Beck be able to restrain Tron’s burning fury, so that the old samurai doesn’t dishonor himself further? Who will win in the final sword duel between Tron and Dyson?
