Shocked how many people think you can just turn on a computer and leave it on for weeks or months or years and never turn it off and it’ll be fine. Computers need their sleep, and sleep mode does not count

This is your reminder to turn off your damn computer and/or restart it if you’re running an older version of Windows <3

You say this but how do you turn it off? ToT

Here’s how to do it on Windows 10, but I’m sure for other windows versions you can follow the same steps.

On the windows search bar, search ‘power options’ or find it in the menu for settings

A screenshot of Window's 10 Power and Sleep settings screen. The link or button on the side labled ' Advanced Power Options' is circled in red.ALT

Click this 'advance power options’ button. You’ll be taken to the following screen. To the side, click on 'choose what the power buttons do’.

After clicking that, you’ll have this screen

The link button 'Change power settings that are currently unavaliable' is near the top of the pageALT

The options will be greyed out, but if you select the 'Change settings that are currently unavailable’ blue highlighted words, and you’re admin of your PC, you’ll be able to check and uncheck things.

You can also fully shutdown your PC aka not using the hibernate/fast startup by holding down the shift key when you click on 'shut down’
