Rewatching legacy and I honestly want to know who was responsible for the sirens. Who sat there straight faced and said “we have hot women who march in time and strip the main character” and then who said “that tracks” and kept it in the movie. Not to mention the fact their unnecessary from even a armory standpoint because once pressed on you the suit and armor form themselves.

I always saw the Sirens, as much of the Grid in Legacy, as something designed with an eventual User audience in mind. Kevin Flynn was building an entertainment experience. A System for programs AND Users, “In there is our future” -I imagine he intended to “open” this digital wonderland to the public eventually, once he had it perfected.

So yes, the Sirens look like a male-gazey fantasy straight from the mind of an 80s IT exec envisioning paradise -because that is exactly what they are.

The Legacy Grid is littered with the proof that Kevin Flynn was very much a flawed product of his time, and I kinda love it for that reason.

Ok so remember when I compared Kevin Flynn’s handling of the Grid to Disney’s handling of the Tron franchise

I’m gonna do it AGAIN
