I had actually been thinking about making a compilation of the different ways Programs die in the original film, but I don’t have the means to create the necessary gifs, so I’m glad someone else did it. I think my favorite is the guard spinning around, it’s just so video gamey and goofy.
Also, let’s not forget the multiple deaths of Sark:
And the death sequence of the MCP, ending with a tired old man at a typewriter, his face disappearing into the darkness of a stone-like structure.
It’s interesting to compare it to Legacy, where they came up with one single unified way for Programs to die, the “collapsing into cubes” death (which Uprising then went on to use in many creative and horrifying ways).
