@fights4users recently mentioned in a post that Tron Legacy doesn’t do the “mirroring of characters in the real world with characters in the digital world” like the original film did. Which just made me really wish that they had done it.
Like, just imagine if the “this year we put a 12 on the box” guy at the board meeting was played by Michael Sheen! Or if Dillinger Jr. had a loyal yes-man played by James Frain! Or if Sam, while infiltrating into the ENCOM building, had to sneak past a group of women working late, all played by the Siren’s actors (and then later would ask the Sirens “have we met before…?”)!
I know I’ve written previously about my theory that modern Programs wouldn’t look like a particular real life person since they were most likely created by teams, but I’d be willing to ignore that if it meant lots of fun cameos.
I love the VERY subtle mirroring of Dumont though
gives me headcanons about Walter and his secret “transport real objects via the internet” project disguised as a shipping company
“i mean *technically* it *is* a shipping company lora”
“okay okay fair. BUT can we start branching out into shipping other things besides oranges eventually? my husband wants to go to hawaii”
“oranges are the only thing we know is safe to send this way, lora. you better start investing in oranges because that’s what we’re gonna be shipping”
“FINE. alan and i will start a damn ORANGE ORCHARD and pass it on to our descendants”
