I was going to make a post a while back about the history of AI in Tron because it’s interesting, and stopped because it was too long

But come to think of it, there’s no way Tron Ares isn’t going to talk about it, and probably not in ways that people are going to like. So I kind of want to make the post just so people know about what references to it already exist. That way we can clown on it for doing a worse job lol

I personally like the semi-spiritual, more-fantasy-than-scifi approach to AI in 1982 (“how did these programs develop consciousness? who knows! they fit on floppy disks! it was probably a miracle”) which I’ve written my own lengthy multi-possibilities analysis of, and YES more is ALWAYS needed
