Every time I look at this clip, my heart warms at the thought of happy Tron who greets new friends with a hug…
….and as dumb as it seems to me that Donald Duck is there, I might be able to tolerate that for the sake of seeing Tron being so adorable.
…the only time we non-gamers get to see Tron being all sweet and affectionate, the way he’s meant to be, is in the 1982 movie. …other than that, we only get Legacy where he’s brainwashed into a killing machine, and Uprising where he’s all traumatized and broody and can’t open up to anyone.
but… this is always gonna be how I see him.
aaaaand I’m not gonna lie, I want more of that.
What makes this a cross of sad and heartwarming?
Sora’s outfit and cycle are heavily influenced by Jethro Bradley’s kit in Tron 2.0 (at the time, the official sequel). And 2.0 also missed the chance to have Jet meet Tron.
So this is the closest Tron gets to having an adventure with his younger brother.
