everyone saying that “you will be boiled” is the new best phrase in your vocabulary: you are so right
For me (especially considering the original context)… it fills something similar to the void described in that other viral post, the one about “unfortunately my circus, unfortunately my monkeys”
the need for an expression that says “I am irrationally angry and I know it is irrational but still wanna express it”
in the case of “you will be boiled,” for me, the ideal context is where:
I have made an unreasonable request… so egregiously unreasonable that it was quite likely a joke, in the first place
unsurprisingly, my request has been denied
it would be ridiculous to blame the person who has denied it, and it would be ludicrous to wish actual harm in retaliation
I realize that any actual emotions I’m feeling here are along the lines of “mild annoyance at not being given the whole world on a platter”
and I shall express this feeling through fittingly melodramatic hyperbole
example:
roommate: “hey Aster what do you want for Christmas?”
me: “five trillion dollars”
roommate: “haha ok, I get it but sorry, that’s outside my budget this year”
