yk when you see someone share a finished handmade item that they clearly spent a lot of time and money on and it’s just. The absolute tackiest thing you have seen in your life. And then you ask yourself why someone would waste all those resources on such an eyesore.

(no, of course you can’t relate to that because you’re a much nicer person than me)

In any case.

BEHOLD!

A person (me) sitting on a log in a lightly forested area. I'm wearing a long wool coat, with brown and purple stripes and a long pointed hood. ALT
Me again, same coat, this time standing up with my arms crossed over. The coat goes down to my mid-calves. It's slightly billow-y, with bell-shaped sleeves. ALT
Me again, standing up. The coat is open at the front and I have my hands in my pockets. Underneath I'm wearing olive courdray trousers and a cream shirt. ALT
The front side of the coat hanging over a tree branch. It closes with buttons and a bronze fibula at the neck. ALT
The backside of the coat, again over the same branch.ALT
close-up of one sleeve and the left front panel of the coatALT
again me, standing up, photographed from behind. I'm wearing the hood up and the tip of it goes down to my waist. ALT

A wool coat!

The top fabric is handwoven and handspun, the whole thing is sewn by hand, too.

an Ikea bag with a few scars of the striped wool fabric, and small balls and a skin of yarn. ALT

Leftovers. Barely anything, all things considered, which is very satisfying.

This thing took me well over 3 years to make, on and off. And now I’m done.

Thank you for your attention.
