Is anyone else getting a bunch of “ghost notifications” lately? Several times over the last few days, I’ve refreshed the page to a blue notification bubble, but then there’s nothing new there when I click on it. The notifs seem to be for my main blog, so I’m assuming this isn’t a “someone I blocked on main interacted with a sideblog” situation.
For me, it’s popping it up every time there’s a new post on my dash. It’s annoying as hell

I wonder if it has to do with other people’s blocks? There’s at least one person who I know has blocked me and a number of others, for not-totally-clear reasons, and Tumblr (with the whole dumpster fire of its coding) has been a little… wobbly about whether I can see any signs of their existence at all.
I wonder if this happens when they interact with someone else’s reblog of a thread that includes a post by me in it somewhere.
I don’t think so. I think it’s a glitch of some kind, where it pops up every time there’s a new post on your dash, or ‘Home’.
