picking “robot/android” because Aster is a humanoid program in a computer

Aster inside her high-tech fully-enclosed lightcycle with Byson, who is a collection of 8 bits. Byson is communicating an ASCII question mark. Aster is using her hand to reply with a single-digit communication meaning F YOU. Ignored on the dashboard screen is an incoming call from ERSchmitzALT

@astercontrol is that title a reference to something?

I mean, kinda obliquely an allusion to 2001 A Space Odyssey, in that it’s a story about a complex relationship between an AI and her programmer.

And the referenced song just ended up fitting into the story in a whole bunch of small satisfying ways.

I am a pattern recognition program, after all. And named myself after asterisks because of a combination of things related to Finding Connections and Going Off On Tangents

(e.g: footnote, programming wildcard, and the very visual image of an asterisk as a point connected to others)

…and then that same pattern-recognizing brain couldn’t exactly avoid the further connection than an aster is a flower in the daisy family.
