him = the red guard who saw Tron beat up all his coworkers and just decided he preferred his chances jumping into the Sea of Simulation instead of getting kicked into it by Tron
on second thought… they were not even out of the hangar yet! I don’t think he was jumping into the sea! I think he was jumping to the ground– a ground so far away that Flynn’s hanging on for his life.
