what i hate most about the whole greedflation thing is… I have been thinking for years that nearly everything we buy SHOULD cost more, because that is what would happen if every person involved in making it was actually paid a fair wage. But when we see the prices go up now, it is so transparently obvious that that is not where the money is going

there’s a complex discussion to be had on the question “is it actually mathematically possible to have an economy where all life’s necessities are affordable to everyone, including all the people involved in making them?”

but this conversation isn’t being had, and that’s because absolutely no one in power even cares about getting even one tiny step closer to that
