One interesting thing about Odo’s character in DS9 is how very honest he is, for someone whose biological nature is deceptive mimicry.

It’s been a while since I saw the show, but I remember being struck by how much he avoided outright lying.

But in a very… autistic, rule-bound sort of way.

That is… Even when his intention was to deceive, he’d do it through statements that were still literally true.

So, I guess you could say he was the anti-Garak?

“They were all lies. Especially the truths.”
