…although, this does also kinda depend on what we mean by “in the villain’s position”

if i had been in the villain’s exact position, all the same past experiences, including being raised exactly the same from birth (plus being born with the same genes, if we are gonna assume genetic causes for villain behavior)

…then “I” would be a whole different person, and we’d just be asking “would the villain do what the villain did,” and… yeah, duh.
