“tell me what settings you think are unproblematic and low-conflict, and I’ll tell you what kinds of problems and conflicts you don’t have in your life”

like for example, if you don’t think of a coffeeshop AU as being particularly prone to dubious consent, you probably haven’t experienced working in a coffeeshop (and how such jobs, steeped in customer service politeness, require you to treat sexual harassers in a way that they will ultimately characterize as leading them on)

everything is relative. Every word meaning, every concept, depends on the experiences of the one expressing it.
