Another silly thing about management at this apartment is the shaky understanding they have of animals
The pet policy is really very accepting here, dogs permitted with no breed restrictions. I just have a lizard (blue tongue skink) and that was totally okay… I’m charged the same pet rent as a cat, which is a little ridiculous but honestly the overall rent here is so reasonable I don’t care
But it’s hilarious that they spell “lizzard” with two Z’s on the rent statements, like she’s Reptile Rincewind or something. (At least it was only in one of the early emails from the property manager that I saw it spelled “blizzard” lmao)
The real hilarity, though, is in the actual pet policy as printed in the rental agreement. Like. Okay, I get why a rental wouldn’t wanna allow pet rodents. And I get why you might put “rabbits” in your list of pets that you think are rodents– they do fill a similar ecological niche, even though they’re lagomorphs and aren’t even closely related to rodents. For rental purposes I get it
But WHY include FERRETS on that same list
Ferrets are not even remotely close. Ferrets are negative rodents. Put a ferret in the house and the total number of rodents in there decreases. A ferret is like a cat, if a cat could chase mice into their holes.
Ferrets. Wtf.
