Actually I wish the 1980 Olympics had featured Lisberger’s “Animalympics” as planned, because that was how he was supposed to fund Tron as an independent film and not pitch it to Disney. But Animalympics went the way of the USA’s whole participation in Olympics that year because there was a boycott in protest of the Soviet Union invading Afghanistan. So thats what i can blame for the Disney cooties on my favorite movie.
I’m not saying Tron would necessarily have been better without Disney involvement I’m just saying I wanna travel to all the alternate universes where things went differently for Lisberger and MacBird and watch Tron in ALL OF THEM
