People who hate snakes are so weird because they’ll insist that snakes are ruthlessly aggressive animals just waiting for the chance to bite a human but if you actually go outside and look at a snake they’re literally just like:

I am reminded of the time I heard about a nature tour guide who said something like “there are snakes around here but you don’t have to be too scared of them because they hate humans” –meaning, of course, that they avoid humans as much as possible

– but hikers kept getting confused because they would interpret it as “they seek humans out on purpose to try and hurt them”

which doesn’t really make any sense… and yet it does, because it is the way humans tend to act when they hate someone
