I mean I don’t necessarily always read fast, but if I’m having a slow-reading day it’ll be because I’m not processing everything that goes in my eyes and I have to glance back and re-read a couple times before it registers
and guess what. same thing happens with video and audio, and that’s WORSE because rewinding and replaying is a super annoying chore compared to just moving my eyes
I’m gen Z and I still would rather the article than a video about it
I strongly suspect the number of people who do better with written material than video is higher than they want us to think
(“they” = whoever profits off having videos more affordable than text because most people can sit through an unskippable commercial more easily than they can circumvent a paywall on an article)
