I just encountered some comments on someone else’s post, from an account that is… racist and otherwise unhinged in ways vastly beyond my capacity for theory of mind

i have no idea whatsoever how this mind (if it is actually a mind and not a random phrase generator) works

• the comments had nothing to do with the post, which was about changing trends in tumblr usernames.
• the commenter’s tumblr username was something about being White and Aryan.
• the comments claimed that animals and pets don’t matter (the original post was not even about animals and pets)
• the comments claimed that only White Aryans matter because they “have souls,” and plants and air also matter because they are “better than animals”
• the comments also claimed that 2000-2007 were the best years, 2007-2012 were okay, and 2016 is where it “all went wrong”
• (the original post did at least mention some years– 2012, however, being the only one in common with the comment)
• 2000-2007 checks out, that’s when W Bush was president
• but why would a weird white supremacist think the Obama administration was better than the Trump administration
• and what did any of this have to do with a post about usernames that have 2012 vibes

I have seen people claim that nobody bothers writing actual spambots for election interference on tumblr because it’s tumblr and not worth it

however, if this was an actual person, then my ability to imagine human minds still has some growing to do, i guess
