…depends what kind of insurance company he worked for.
[[MORE]]…and whether denying coverage for healthcare counts as a method of murder.
…Under Asimov’s Three Laws, allowing harm through inaction counts as doing harm (which realistically means every robot in Asimov’s world is in a constant trolley-problem crash and 100% nonfunctional, but that’s not the story I’m tryna suspend disbelief for right now, so whatever).
anyway. Ram doesn’t live in the Asimov world. He just follows whatever F’d up directives ENCOM programmers put on their AIs, so he’d get to kill as many kids as his job required. He wouldn’t like it. He’d try to convince himself that wasn’t what his work was doing, or that it was all part of helping folks plan for their future needs. Because he’s far too damn pure and good and I’m gonna go cry now.
