On my first read of this, I misinterpreted the “snap” and the diagonal comic panel as some kind of sudden teleportation effect that resulted in ending up on the infinite linoleum
and also I interpreted the infinite linoleum as the grid from TRON
and the new glowy details on the character as the effect of being transported to the grid from TRON
… basically I interpreted this as a very specific wish-fulfilment fantasy
