i think what’s on a person’s nightstand is very telling so reblog this and put in the tags the things you have on your nightstand

Instead of a bed with a nightstand, I sleep on a set of NSF shelving with storage underneath and a mattress on top and another set of shelving over the head of the mattress. Strapped onto the underside of that head shelf is a 2016-ish MacBook with mostly just fanfiction on it, which opens to be usable from the viewpoint of reclining me. Also strapped to the shelf, on each side of the MacBook, are two large fabric storage cubes facing inward, filled with plastic rectangular canisters which effectively turn them into multi-compartmented shelving units which I can reach into from my supine vantage point. The compartments contain such things as my glasses, the mouse for the laptop, lip balm, lotion, a notebook and pen, two digital alarm clocks set to different times, a music player, some baseballs (for back-massage purposes) and lots of sex toys (for other-part-massage purposes, although the magic-wand one gets a sad amount of boring back-and-shoulder-massage use as well, because I am an achey goblin whose body hates me). The only pillows I use are a neck pillow and one very long thin body pillow twice my height which, folded lengthwise on top of my mattress, resembles a canoe or a vulva; the purpose being to keep me comfortable sleeping on my back. Other things are also stored on top of the head shelf, including extra blankets and sheets and pillows, and my stuffed axolotl, Janeway Junior.

And yes. All of this does say things about me.
