One time someone posted about how dismal it seemed that we started naming generations so late in the alphabet (gen X, gen Y, gen Z, not giving the future much room to continue, huh?)
and I commented that the whole history of naming generations seems to be pretty chaotic (Silent, Great, Boom, 2000, X, Y, Z, what the heck kind of pattern is that)
And someone replied “editions of an operating system” and I was like, yeah ok fair
But now that we’re calling the newest one “alpha” I feel like we may be taking the software analogy a little far?
