using your phone in a movie theater is a symptom of long covid
the defense of being on your phone in a movie theater is who cares? by your own admission, you should be paying attention to the movie. so why do you care what other people are doing? you’re meant to be paying attention to the movie.
This is 100% true
but movie theaters are also disingenuous as hell, because right after that “don’t ruin the movie with your phone” announcement, when everyone has gotten situated all cozy and the movie is just about to begin
THAT is when they ALWAYS play the advertisement that goes
“mmm, yummy yummy refreshments!! wouldn’t it be absolutely great to get up now and push past all the other people in your row and go buy a snack? And then come back, and push in past everyone in your row again, and then spend the next several minutes distracting everyone with crinkly wrappers and crunching sounds?”
so in conclusion. movie theaters are always going to be the absolute shittiest place to watch a movie no matter what people do in them. Why do they still exist. I do not know
