been watchin death note recently and after thinking about lights stance on abortion i’ve figured out how exactly it would go
L: oh, light, ive been meaning to ask- what’s your stance on abortion?
light: abortion?
light, internally: shit! this is another test to see if im kira, isnt it?! okay, think! what would kira say? he’d want to say something that would make him sound powerful- but wait! i cant just be misogynistic about this! if i say i think it’s truly a crime, then i sound misogynistic AND like i’m kira for casting such judgement on others— no! i cant say i support it, either, because that could point towards me being kira as well! eliminating possible threats and future criminals could be seen as a kira move, or even as me doing the opposite of what kira would do! dammit, L!
light, internally: wait! i have to think outside the box. i can’t give a simple one way or another answer! both options have too much influence to make me look like kira! i know! i have to say id get a woman pregnant and stay with her no matter her option! no, hold on- that isn’t enough! i have to say id get pregnant! and not just from some medical implant, no- i have to get knocked up by another man! that’s it! this is how i prove im not kira!

(unfortunately the Death Note will not work on any victim under 780 days old, so, even assuming this is counted from conception, it rules out the use of a Death Note for abortion. Which is a thing the real Kira would know– therefore, if Light claims he would use the Death Note for abortion, this is in fact a point against the conclusion of him being Kira)
