homunculus-argument:

The least fun things to try to explain people, especially someone who’s clearly just as frustrated as I am, is that I understand what they are saying, and I am not trying to disagree. I do not expect this answer to change just by being insistent. I am aware that they are telling the truth and I am not trying to bully then into making the truth a different one. The problem is that they keep answering a different question than the one I am asking.

I’m aware that you’re crammed and busy and backlogged and rushed. I’m not trying to undo that. All I want to know is whether “this is a long process, it will take time” means two days or two hours. If it’s two days I have no problem coming back in two days. If it’s two hours I can wait two hours. All I need to know is which one it is.

I sympathize so very hard (and this is as a pharmacy technician who genuinely has zero way to know whether it’s going be two hours or two days until I check both 1. Your insurance and 2. Whether we have the item in stock)
