my dad joke is if someone sneezes twice i say “bless you” both times but if they sneeze again i get really serious and say “now, that’s enough.” and usually ppl chuckle sensibly but sometimes it really scares people which is who i rly do it for
I do a similar thing where I say bless you a different language each time, and once they’ve stopped sneezing I say “you can continue, I know more languages”

January 10th, 2025 3:18am used to have coworkers who would talk about why we say bless you arguing over whether it was from the Black Death or from an old belief that sneezing was your soul leaving your body anyway i thought the second interpretation was hilarious bc there was one coworker who sneezed a whole lot of times in a row and i would eventually go “HOW MANY SOULS DO YOU HAVE”
