Anonymous:
Had a customer bring 2 pairs of jeans to the register. I ring them up, tell the customer the total, and he says “that’s with the discount?”

I tell him these pants are ringing at full price.

He points vaguely in the direction of our clothing section. “But there’s a sign over there that says 20% off casual wear!”

I radio back to one of the girls currently working in the clothing section about a price check and she says “Uhhh… Yeah, they’re not on sale right now?” in a really confused tone.

I tell the customer that the pants aren’t on sale, and he angrily says, “What, are these formal wear, then?!”

I suggest that they’re probably considered work/labor wear because that brand is known for their durability. The man rudely scoffs, waves dismissively, and storms off.

A few minutes later, the clothing girl comes up to inform me that she and the manager checked all over the clothing section after my radio call — there is no such sale, and no such sale sign. Like, dude, why would you think we would honor a sale YOU MADE UP?
