”you can just make an oc” you dont understand anything. the character needs to mutate naturally until unrecognizable. like all evolutionary processes it takes time. you can’t force it or it doesn’t take. you must endure weird ooc thematically discordant versions of a guy until they bud off into beautiful new life. have patience

see it’s about loving the character. i think. it’s about love that persists through all changes, bit by bit

i mean this hasn’t happened to me yet but that’s how I imagine it

you can’t just make an OC and expect to feel the same love. but you can take a character you already love, and change it, slowly. little by little.

and because of the slowness, the love stays

because that way the love doesn’t realize that it’s in a pot slowly being boiled and also slowly being contaminated with other substances until what was originally in the pot doesn’t even remain anymore.

this is why parents let their kids grow up, instead of just abandoning the kid and finding an actual grownup to hang out with

…I think, anyway. that hasn’t happened to me either, but again, that’s how i imagine it.
