so I looked this up because it sounded too over-the-top awful to be real. The phrase “Amazon prime but with human beings” just didn’t sound like a thing anyone would actually say, even the most evil people with the greatest disregard for human life

(they sometimes say things that are pretty much equivalent in meaning. but they usually don’t use words like “human beings.” they use dehumanizing words instead. they don’t want to admit out loud that their victims are human)

But. I guess thats not true anymore. I guess the warning flags of “this is an exaggerated quote from a satire site” don’t work in this world. The quote is in The Guardian and seems to be part of a legitimate news story.
