I think I’ve said this before, but:

- The Ninja Turtles are hilarious because the connection between ninjutsu and turtles seems to come out of nowhere

- but there is also probably something to be said for martial-arts animals with more comprehensible connections

-such as, for example

1-the species name sounds similar to the name of the martial art

2-the animal is native to a region where the martial art is practiced

3-based on anatomy and biology, the animal seems like it could be good at the martial art

For passing #1 and #2 while hilariously failing #3, may I suggest the Capoeira Capybara

This feels like an excellent opportunity to introduce you to the wonderful world of 1980s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles knockoffs, imitators and parodies.

And that’s not even getting into the animated knockoffs, such as my old favorite Biker Mice from Mars.

LMFAO

…. juuust slightly irritated now that only one of those fully follows the rhythm of the words “teenage mutant ninja turtles.”

….which “Capoeira Capybaras” does, all by itself.

….however, this excludes any possible extra words to clarify how old the Capybaras are, or what sort of bizarre sci-fi was involved in their hero origin story

… guess we’ll just have to imagine.
