Okay so idc where you’re from irl, here on Tumblr we are all denizens of The Internet and some of us are hella crafty with the simmering spirit of a revolutionary buried deep beneath layers of well-knit sweaters.

Watch this video and spread it around, if you spin, try and remind the modern world what a spindle looks like and do it in public as much as possible.

Have conversations. Join a local guild and try to organize a stronger push for public flash mob style spin-ins.

Occupy space.

If more people are spinning then we can slowly increase the amount of wool coming from our local areas if we are buying from our fibersheds.

If more people buy wool locally to spin then indie dyers/spinners might see an uptick in local sales to help keep them afloat and could maybe have more room to adjust pricing.

If more people are learning to spin then guilds will see an uptick in younger members to help maintain the community and skills therein.

And maybe I’m just a dreamer but I hope that we can all try our damnedest to make the best of a shitcaked situation.

Signed,

Your Crafty Canadian Cousin
