Listen, my immediate reaction is “of course, I’d meet so many other Tron fans and we’d talk about programs and circuit sex and kinky programming smut fic all the time, and I’d throw orgies for them and i wouldn’t have to worry about getting fired because i wouldn’t have a boss to find out, where is the damn downside”

BUT

my brain is such a program – and specifically, besides “Pattern Recognition program” there is a very hefty strain of Optimizing Program in there

the kind that loves to find new ways to interpret instructions without any pesky theory-of-mind about what the Users meant when they wrote it

The kind that’s like, “oh, you want me to find the easiest and quickest way to organize these files? Well i guess they can’t be disorganized anymore if i DELETE THEM ALL hahaha that’s pretty damn quick and easy isn’t it”

That kind of program. Is a pretty big chunk of who I am. At least when I’m fucking around with ideas for fun

Which means i am VERY HYPERSENSITIVE TO THE INTRICACIES of goddamn FAE LAW

which means i am looking at that wording, “enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life” with extreme distrust
