the one thing I refuse to accept as canon about Tron 2.0 is that Alan and Lora ever gave a kid that name

“Jethro Eugene Bradley” no. Just no. I don’t have a super clear picture in my mind of parents who’d choose that name, but they are NOT Alan and Lora

And this is me knowing how much Alan sucks at choosing names. “Hey i wrote a system security monitor. it is for the computer, and therefore electronic, so i will name it Tron”

Still. Lora knows what she’s doing. Enough for both of them. She would not let that happen.

…I mean. Okay. at least he doesn’t go by fuckin “Jeb” like that other guy who got those same initials

Counterpoint based solely in headcanon territory, but would at least vaguely redeem the Adult Bradleys :

Jet picked his own name. He decided to change it for [insert reason here] - I kinda vibe with Trans Jet, but he could just have decided to change his name for the hell of it, or that he needed a middle name for Some Reason.

Unfortunately, Jet inherited Alan’s naming skills, and this is the result.

Jethro because it sounds cool and he wanted the nickname Jet (teenage boys are weird like that, let’s be real here, I knew 4 BJ’s who knew exactly what that could be short for and liked watching others suffer), Eugene for Insert Relative Jet Looks Up To Here. Lora just looks at Alan with a “this is your fault”, knowing Jet has the combination of their stubbornness and the more someone protests his name the more he’s going to double down on it.

Hahaha…. okay this does actually make a huge amount of sense.

Lora was probably the main reason Jet got to choose his name unimpeded, because she understood that last part and picked her battles

Once Lora was gone Alan and Jet seem to have gotten more confrontational with each other about Jet’s life choices (see, the job discussion scene) but the name issue is at least pretty much accepted by that point.

Excellent interpretation.
