…Thought: So I know this has been dead for a while, and it was originally just a silly bit, but… w.r.t. the last post, I was thinking what if we wrote the Tron 3 we wanted to see. But the problem there is, there are so many of us, with so many brilliant ideas that could potentially conflict.

So: What if we put together a zine/anthology where everyone could submit their dream version of Tron 3? You’re welcome to submit a script, a novella, a story board, concept art, anything you like. I’m happy to do the formatting and editing to make a polished document. Part of me is thinking, we can make this pay what you want and have the money raised donated to a charity (girls who code again, or maybe an org that helps sa victims as a middle finger to the actor?), but at the same time, I would not want to be the one to handle the money.

So what do y'all think?

I love this idea!!

(yes I’m biased because I am an asterisk. But as far as I know, my name was unrelated to anything involving the creation of the Tron: Asterisk idea)

However

I’ve actually been doing something … somewhat similar already? with the Mission Day project.

But it’s more of a webring than a zine, and it hasn’t gotten much real attention yet.

I welcome any attention it can get, though. It was planned around a specific day, but… it can really go on all year.

Basically, it’s a website that tells a framing story (“in one universe, the Encom team discovers how to use the Laser to open portals to alternate universes!”)

framed in the form of an online chat between all of them and their Programs:

LORA-PRIME:
Ready
Here
goes nothing
GIBBS-01:
Interesting, interesting...
LORA-PRIME:
I know,
Gibbs
Figure
of speech.
This
had better NOT be
nothing
Not after all Flynn's hype about miracles and quantum teleportation
and
parallel realities and all that
K-FLYNN:
Hey
man
hey
You can
all rest
assured
This is
gonna be
SOMETHING
ALAN-1:
Then let's go.
User K-FLYNN requesting
access to search-program CLUALT

and then uses that as a branch-off point

to connect to different AU fanworks

(and ones that are different interpretations of canon, basically anything)

(and yes that could definitely include alternate versions of TR3N!)

<3

They can be links to anywhere – AO3 pages, Tumblr posts, a personal HTML site, whatever

the creator of the AU just has to ask and send me a link to add.

…It’s not a zine, of course. (I, too, have no interest in trying to manage zine money).

But… if any of you do make a zine? I would be delighted to make it one of the things that Mission Day links to! Just ask.

Oh yes!!! I would be delighted to have the zine linked with Mission Day!
