is this a pharmacist thing or just a manager thing in general, because it sucks SO BAD
- phone call comes from someone who’s *specifically* asking to speak to my boss.
- boss is *not* noticeably more busy than me, but still refuses to take the call without an explanation of what it’s about.
- i ask the caller and relay the info to the boss, who insists that no, this is something I can handle on my own.
- so i try, but of course the caller keeps bringing up issues that I have to ask the boss about
- the call therefore becomes a drawn-out game of telephone in two directions with me as a middleman between two people who clearly need to communicate with each other, but are forcing me to relay their messages in a way that makes things more inconvenient for absolutely everyone
asking because i have had this happen in every pharmacy I’ve worked in. Including ones that had a phone tree that was supposed to direct calls to whoever the caller chose. Pharmacists still wouldn’t pick up the calls that rang to them, they just let it ring til it redirected to the technicians. WTF. WHY.
