In other news regarding logic and signs: In this building there’s a door with a sign that says, “If door is closed, do not enter.”

It’s a real linguistic marvel to me. Because the most literal interpretation makes no sense (obviously no one can enter while the door is closed! Are we ghosts?) and the next most intuitive interpretation (“if the door is closed, do not open it and enter”) would mean there is no reason for a doorway to exist there at all.

The intended meaning, I think, is something like: “Only certain people should ever open this door, and this sign does not apply to them because they’ve been instructed on exactly when and how the door should be opened. If you aren’t one of these people, you should never go into this room unless one of the authorized people has already left the door open for you.” But it’s a miracle of human linguistics and theory of mind that we’re capable of parsing that at all.
