In regard to the last reblog

(I first posted it a couple years ago it’s getting more relevant all the time)

KOSA is still not yet active in the USA, but, as I’m sure you are aware, other countries are doing similar things, and the current US government is not one I trust for a minute

And, as far as I know, the “email list” option is still more-or-less viable…. since there are still email clients that can be used without having to provide any of this highly unreliable “proof of age,” or having the contents of emails scanned for inappropriate material.

Sooo… feel free to hit me up at my Astercontrol at protonmail address anytime.

…Unlike most social media hosts, I take a very individualized approach to moderation. If I don’t get along with you in an email convo, I can just personally block your email, and so can any other individual it’s cc’d to.

Personal tools for blocking and filtering are pretty much always more useful than sweeping sitewide regulations that are enforced (always unfairly and inconsistently, it seems) from the top.

It’s gonna be messy and unwieldy… but all the options that aren’t are being taken away from us. Such is life.
