here on tumblr we constantly see posts like “support artists” and “the best way to support artists on Tumblr is to engage with their art on the artist’s original post, preferably reblogging”

but we also see posts saying “the worst thing that can possibly happen to you on tumblr is getting 10,000 notes on a post” and “the mortifying ordeal of being known/perceived”

and…. Okay, either you believe #1, but feel some obligation to hide your desire for approval and recognition behind self-deprecating reverse psychology (very sad)

Or, you believe #2, and actually hate other artists and are secretly trying to hurt them (VERY sad)

OR you believe OTHER people deserve attention, but somehow you all think that your own posts are Not Art.
