the thing that bothers me with 7 deadly sin based characters is when they cant decide if they embody the sin by suffering from it or by drawing it out of others. ie. if your gluttony demon is a guy who loves eating then your lust demon should be a gooner sex pest. and if your lust demon is a seductive girlboss then your gluttony demon should be a 5 star chef. does this make sense.
Taking the 7 deadly sins and turn them into positive role models that don’t hurt others? I like this prompt.
This post is about the 7sins leading by being an example of their own sin vs the 7sins being the embodiment of a temptation to influence people to sin themselves.
However there’s a prompt of them being good.
I like this take, because I honestly don’t see that much of a border between the sin mascots being sinners themselves or trying to tempt sin
(like, why would you assume that sexy women who seduce people aren’t doing it because they’re horny? Or that chefs who make good food aren’t doing it because they also love to eat?)
And since all those “sins” are only bad in excess (I mean, they mostly just boil down to wanting something good for yourself, and despite what religion often says that’s not an inherently bad thing)
I can totally see them as just helpful pals who both like feeling good and wanna help you feel good too.
