initial thoughts in no particular order, regarding the shooting here in MN

it’s close to home, but not that close. posh neighborhood where my posh snobby relatives would have approved of me living, but that I would never have been able to afford. Meanwhile in my own neighborhood that they assume is “bad” just for not being rich and majority-white, nothing’s happening that makes the news. (Although that may very well be just because the news doesn’t care about that neighborhood.)

Wow this maybe the first time in recent memory that I’ve seen a news article say that a hate crime was actually being investigated as a hate crime. Because the targeted group was… Catholics. wow.

Shooter definitely being described like he’s white. “He did not have any extensive criminal background” so … what did he have then. Well it wasn’t extensive. Eye roll.

“looking into a motive” and there’s apparently a “manifesto” which they’ve deleted. Okay. I don’t even want to see what he had to say, because even if any of it is valid criticism of the Catholic church, i can’t fathom any way that would connect to shooting randomly into mass full of kids.
