The funniest thing to me about the whole concept of “conspiracy theories about famous not-openly-queer singers being secretly gay and communicating it via coded messages in their songs and videos”
is that, even if you could show me sufficient proof to convince me that some such singer was doing this, deliberately, with coded signs chosen intentionally to convey the message “I’m gay”
Even then, if I fully believed the signals were on purpose and were intended to have that meaning?
my takeaway still wouldn’t even necessarily be “they’re gay”
It would be “they’ve decided it would be profitable to have both the mainstream audience that believes they’re straight, AND the LGBTQ audience who is convinced they’re secretly gay.”
Because, when someone makes their money putting on performances? I just assume by default, unless there’s reason to think otherwise, that anything they publicly do is a performance intended to make them money.
never gonna know the real truth about anything in their life. Why even speculate.
