Character with little to no empathy being a good person will always be more interesting than them being a bad person

Character who treats everyone with abnormally high levels of kindness, even the people that are so looked-down-on in society that it’s considered normal to not care about them

and it turns out it’s because, 1. most people only treat others kindly if they have empathy for them, and 2. most people only have empathy for others who are like them

And… if you’ve never felt that you had anything in common with anyone….

Then you basically had to build the habit of being good by following a scaffold of rules, just doing what you think leads to a better world overall… without being driven by strong emotions about the people you’re helping.

Because if you waited for the emotions to drive you, you’d be waiting a damn long time.
