I would be maybe a little excited about the remastered re-release of the Tron movie “steelbooks,” if I could be assured that they will actually be physical media that serves the basic purpose of physical media

By which I mean:

- I have heard that these remastered versions are Blu-ray discs

- The point of owning physical media (like a disc) is so that you will continue to have it, independent of having a continued Internet connection or ability to connect to specific files hosted on specific websites.

- Blu-ray discs do not always serve this purpose. Many of them literally cannot be played without connecting to a website to confirm their legitimacy.

- Not all Blu-ray discs do this, but this is a thing I 100% don’t trust Disney not to do.
