I think the way I’ve seen it, Tron fandom doesn’t need mass approval or acceptance from other people per se for your own interest. I mean, maybe I’m projecting, but the fact that it was alive and well from Tron 1982 to Legacy and then Legacy to today for Ares shows that while we look to the creators for content, we aren’t inherently reliant on them to keep our interest alive.
I don’t mind Tron being niche, Uprising was great, wish it had gotten more seasons, but I’ve been a Tron fan without knowing many other fans for decades…
